  Electronic Classifieds

As an added benefit to all Manor & Street auction consignors, our web site includes an electronic classified section to promote vehicles from past sales which did not sell across the auction block. This service is part of Manor & StreetÕs sale marketing strategy to assist owners in the ongoing effort to sell their vehicles. The classified section is not an online auction, and prices listed are for the auction reserve. Interested buyers may contact the seller through the Manor & Street office by telephone, or e-mail. All sales transactions are brokered by Manor & Street as authorized agent for the seller. Manor & Street does offer classified listings to non-auction clients on a limited fee reservation basis. Owners interested in listing an automobile through our service should contact Manor & Street for space reservation, pricing, and conditions.

Selling With Reserve

If you are selling your vehicle with reserve it is important that you be available at all times for consultation during the bidding for your car. A member of the auction staff will be communicating to you the current bid, and the asking bid on your vehicle until only one high bidder remains (Manor & Street reserves the right to bid on your behalf for your own vehicle up to, but not exceeding, the reserve price). At this point, if the high bid is below reserve, you will given the opportunity to verbally accept or reject the offer (If you are the only bidder, then the car is bought in, and remanded to your custody). Should you choose to accept the offer, the commission rate will be calculated on the accepted selling price as outlined in the vehicle consignors agreement. In the event of a Ôno saleÕ, Manor & Street recommends keeping your car on display until the end of the event. Other buyers may take an interest in your vehicle and approach you for a negotiated private sale. In many cases, automobiles cannot be removed from the auction site until after the close of the event.

Reserve Pricing

It is important to be honest about your car. When considering a reserve price for your vehicle, please do not inflate your reserve price with the expectation of lowering it later when the bidding begins. Tell the auctioneer the true minimum inclusive of the commission. The sooner that the auctioneer can announce that the car will sell, the easier it will be to generate excitement among interested bidders, which in turn can translate into a higher sale price. Many bidders will refrain from bidding until they know the vehicle will really be sold.
